Title: Director of Steel Pan Ensemble
Position Purpose:
The Director of Steel Pan Ensemble is responsible for leading student rehearsals one or two evenings a week. The Director is also responsible for holding several concerts throughout the academic year (September through April).
Job Duties:
- Responsible for keeping an accurate record of student attendance and achievement throughout the year.
- Responsible for submitting a letter grade for each enrollee at the close of each semester.
- Prepare the ensemble for at least one public performance per semester.
- Teach the ensemble course three hours per week each semester in an assigned rehearsal space.
- Communicate promptly with students if make up rehearsals are needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience
Applicants should have experience teaching both beginning and experienced students to perform in a wide variety of styles.
