What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse- Emergency Department position at Bates County Memorial Hospital?
Primarily responsible for Emergency Department (ED) patient care. Triages, treats and stabilizes patients in an emergency medical condition. Performs duties without direct supervision. Requires flexibility to provide care in the emergency department and as a pre-hospital provider as needed. Serves as patient advocate and teacher to improve outcomes. Provides post procedure instruction and treatment. Addresses patient and family concerns. Functions in an out-of-hospital environment to include staff function in an ALS ambulance as primary or secondary care provider in an as needed basis. May be required to cover call on occasion for emergency or ambulance.
Experience and Education:
Minimum:
- Associates Degree of Science of Nursing.
- ACLS certified; BCLS certified; PALS or equivalent; and TNCC or approved equivalent certifications within 9 months of hire.
- Registered Nurse, licensed in Missouri
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree of Science of Nursing
- Minimum two years of experience in Critical Care/emergency care environment is preferred.
- Must be able to respond and perform duties in stressful environment and react/respond immediately to emergency.
- Must be able to perform duties with limited or no supervision. No physical lifting limitations
