Summary
As an Equipment Operator at Bates Recycling, you will be an integral part of our operations team, responsible for safely operating heavy machinery to facilitate the recycling process. This role is vital to our mission of promoting sustainability through effective waste management.
This position is responsible for operating various heavy equipment machines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Operate material handler magnet and grapple
- Scrapyard experience is a plus
- Operate shear crane, end loader and fork lift (Fork lift/bobcat is not considered Heavy Equipment)
- Loading and unloading of scrap.
- Process and prepare material for shipping.
- Equipment operator will perform daily inspection and preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Equipment operator must pay attention to details and be aware of your surrounding.
- Must be self motivated, good communication skills and understanding of safety regulations.
- Follows all workplace rules
- Ensure production schedule follow through as allocated by Supervisor
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
