- Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Implement all water safety policies and procedures. Supervise members and guests in and around the swimming pool.
- Job Tasks (Additional Responsibilities)
- Vacuums pool bottom, skims bugs and other debris from surface to prepare pool for daily use.
- Always supervises and observes swimmers to ensure their safety.
- Administers care for swimmers’ minor injuries, such as small cuts and bruises.
- Assists in organizing clinics and private swimming lessons for members as directed by the Pool Director and instructors.
- Enforces rules of conduct at the pool.
- Checks first aid supplies and reports needed items.
- Always organizes and monitors pool games; suggest pool-side games.
- Places rescue tube and ring buoy at the lifeguard chair in the morning; returns these and all swimming aids and pool toys to the lifeguard locker when the pool closes.
- Straightens the pool area at the end of the day.
- Maintains all necessary records determined by the Pool Director.
- Attends all meetings as directed by the Pool Director.
- Implements all pool safety equipment.
- Performs required pool pre-opening duties.
- Be able to lift 20 pounds or more.
- Inform the Pool Director about unresolved member or guest disruptions that could cause a safety problem.
- Always maintain cleanliness on pool deck.
- Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Lifeguard manager.
