Early Childhood Education Coordinator Job Description
About Us:
The Baton Rouge Early Childhood Education Collaborative is a non-profit network of community organizations working to provide home-based early childhood education, and support to families and caregivers of under-resourced preschoolers. These preschoolers are not in a Learning Center or Head Start and are receiving in-home care from family members and other caregivers offering limited education to help them obtain school readiness skills for kindergarten success.
Goal: To coordinate the implementation of the Home Start Early Childhood Education and Wellness Program, including the Parent Child Plus Program, designed to prepare preschoolers for kindergarten and school success.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Recruits, interviews, and selects families and children for participation in the Home Start Program, including Parent Child Plus. (In-person and/or virtual).
· Communicates regularly with parents/caregivers regarding Preschool standards, child development stages and best practices.
· Models educational behavior for parents/caregivers and helps them interact with their children.
· Assists families, at their request, in accessing health, community services and referrals.
· Prepares and maintains records, reports, and assessment data on participating children.
· Meets with Education Director and staff, as required, to review Parent Child Plus Program goals, activities, materials, and evaluations.
· Assists the Education Director and staff in recruiting, interviewing, and selecting Early Learning Specialist (ELS) for employment.
· Introduces S.T.E.A.M, technology and computer tablets to parents/caregivers and preschoolers in Program.
Qualifications:
· Applicant must have a Bachelors Degree in Education and currently certified to teach PreK, Kindergarten - third grade students in Louisiana.
· Have 20 years of professional early childhood education experience, working with preschoolers or lower elementary students and teachers.
· Have good computer and technology skills, including experience with S.T.E.A.M. and ability to schedule and conduct Zoom and other virtual meetings.
· Able to pass the CCCBC background check.
· Completes 30 hours of required training, as scheduled.

Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour
