Description
JOB PURPOSE OR MISSION : Responsible for day-to-day supervision in Nutritional Care. Makes decisions that may affect the division, department and / or GHS System's financial and performance objectives and strategic results. Provides input to director on budget for area. Supervises employees including responsibility for performance reviews, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations. Performs job for the age population served, as defined in the department's scope of service.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include, but are not limited to :
1. Participates in the development of departmental goals and objectives.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS :
- Ensures that departmental priorities are carried out on a daily basis.
- Ensures that goals and objectives of the department are administered daily and are consistent with management expectations.
- Ensures that departmental measures for processes and expectations are carried out on a daily basis.
- Supervises the staff of the department in regards to fluctuations in the workload.
2. Demonstrates effectiveness in supervising assigned staff.

3. Coordinates the daily activities of the assigned work area.

5. Coordinates the work activities of Nutritional Care employees to ensure quality service.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
Three years of food service experience in a comprehensive hospital, commercial, industrial, military or institutional food service operation.
Previous supervisory experience in a food service operation preferred.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
SPECIAL SKILL, LICENSE, AND / OR KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS :
Must have Serv Safe certification, or obtain within 6 months of entry into job.
Ability to plan work schedules and assign duties; ability to provide or arrange for training.
Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures.
Ability to monitor and maintain quality control standards.
Working knowledge of food preparation methods and standards.
Working knowledge of maintenance and care of food service facilities, equipment, supplies, and materials.
HIPAA REQUIREMENTS :
Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable HIPAA regulations appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to : Employee health records, patient related complaints, and / or information related to patient location.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS :
Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable safety practices appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to : Incident reporting, handling of wastes, sharps and linen, PPE, exposure control plans, hand washing, environment of care, and patient identification.
