MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Job Description :

The Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of cleaning and utility duties throughout the warehouse, as dictated per master sanitation, preventative maintenance schedules or as assigned by the Facility Manager on a regular basis. The maintenance tech is guided by a general knowledge of building cleaning & maintenance tasks, and the use of tools and basic maintenance supplies. The Maintenance Technician will demonstrate core competencies : communication, accountability, flexibility / adaptability, judgment / problem solving, in fulfilling job duties. All employees of Batory Foods are responsible for safety, legality and quality of food products.

This position is exclusively for weekends, offering a balanced schedule of three days on and four days off. The role involves working three 12-hour shifts, from Friday to Monday, with hours from 6 : 00 AM to 6 : 00 PM.

Key Responsibilities :

• Performs a variety of duties in maintaining, repairing, operating, and cleaning of the warehouse, exterior / interior grounds.
• Assists in making decisions on all normal and minor repairs and reports major problems to the facility manager.
• Cleans sidewalks and parking areas, picks up and disposes of trash, policies grounds for litter, debris, branches, and similar items. Operates equipment assigned to complete those tasks, whether electrical or gasoline motor driven.
• Maintains and performs minor repairs to equipment, which is needed to complete assigned tasks, and building tasks, and building areas, using power and hand tools and other necessary equipment.
• Performs a variety of other unskilled or semi-skilled tasks such as minor carpentry, plumbing, welding, painting, minor electrical work, sheet metal work, masonry, and drywall maintenance.
• Analyzes and repairs basic building and grounds maintenance problems, alone or as part of a team.
• Performs a variety of building services duties including furniture moves and equipment assembly.
• Responds to emergency problems in the facility and emergency repairs as needed.
• Maintains records, performs rounds, completes maintenance work orders, and inspections.
• Maintains shops and mechanical areas in a clean and safe manner.
• Conducts monthly glass and brittle plastics audit and completes corrective actions.
• Performs all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the facility.
• Responsible for master sanitation and PMs schedule and completion and maintenance of records in a timely manner.

Working Conditions :

Work environment requires exposure to dust, noise, or extreme temperatures.
