Overview
We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented, and dependable Auto Body Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and the ability to repair vehicles per manufacturer's guidelines. As an Auto Body Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing vehicle body damage, ensuring high-quality workmanship, and maintaining a safe work environment. Technicians must be open to regular shop-provided training for certification and new technologies.
Duties
- Perform auto body repair tasks according to manufacturer's standards including assembling, fabricating, and replacing damaged parts.
- Check parts against estimate to ensure proper parts are ordered and received.
- Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner and provide tool maintenance when required.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Maintain and wear all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including a respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
- Comply with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials.
Skills
- Must be capable of using communication platforms such as email, familiar with internet browsing and search engines, and willing to learn new software applications as needed.
- Proficiency in automotive repair techniques, particularly in auto body repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
- Ability to weld using various techniques such as MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
- Skilled in interpreting alignment readings and making necessary corrections.
- Ability to work with various hand tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality results.
- Experience working in a dealership environment is preferred but not required.
