In this paid internship you will you will create usable, software-based tools to support risk-informed decision-making within nuclear industry modernization efforts. You will work with subject matter experts and researchers to develop scientific computing tools that will consist of graphical user interfaces, software package integration, and algorithmic development. Reporting to the Data Science & Applied Statistics group. This team works a 9x80 schedule, and works onsite at our Idaho Falls campus. Start date and duration of internship vary based on project and student availability. You may be eligible for course credit for this internship if approved by your university.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
Master's Degree Program / Doctorate Degree Program enrolled full time at an accredited college / university studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related.
- Experience or coursework in High Performance Computing modeling and simulation methods such as, Stochastic models, Uncertainty Analysis, Density functional theory, Bayesion Models, or Stochastic Random Process
A minimum overall 3.0 GPA
Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT)

Compensation and Benefits :
Undergraduate Internships ($26.16 / hour - $31.47 / hour)
Masters Internships and PhD Internships Pre-Candidacy ($32.87 / hour - $35.26 / hour)
PhD Internships Post-Candidacy ($35.95 / hour - $38.41 / hour)
