What are the responsibilities and job description for the RELAP5-3D Validation Case Internship Summer 2025 position at Battelle Energy Alliance?

In this paid internship, you will develop and validate RELAP5-3D models for integral test facilities relevant for the code assessment. The student will focus on light water reactor technology and accident tolerant fuel cladding. The student would support formal report preparation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of thermal-hydraulics, RELAP5 family codes modeling and simulation, and Python Django.
You will report to the Thermal Fluid Systems Methods and Analysis group. This team works a 9x80 schedule and operates onsite at our Idaho Falls campus. The start date and duration of the internship vary based on project and student availability. You may be eligible for course credit for this internship if approved by your university.
Minimum Requirements:

Undergraduate student enrolled full-time at an accredited college/university studying Nuclear Engineering

A minimum overall (3.0) GPA

Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT)
