Reporting to the Reactor Physics Methods and Analysis group, you will have the opportunity to apply artificial intelligence and machine learning methods to space fission reactor designs. Your responsibilities will include working with the MOOSE framework and its associated codes, developing cross section libraries, and conducting MOOSE simulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in reactor physics and design, neutronics, multiphysics, numerical analysis, and sensitivity analysis. This team works a 9x80 schedule onsite at our Idaho Falls campus. You may be eligible for course credit for the is internship if approved by your university.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
Graduate student enrolled full time at an accredited college / university studying Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or Applied Physics
A minimum overall (3.0) GPA
Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT)

Compensation and Benefits :
Undergraduate Internships ($26.16 / hour - $31.47 / hour)
Masters Internships and PhD Internships Pre-Candidacy ($32.87 / hour - $35.26 / hour)
PhD Internships Post-Candidacy ($35.95 / hour - $38.41 / hour)
