Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Technical Facility Trainer to work in our MFC Training department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our MFC facility with every Friday off. You will report to a senior manager.

The Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is looking for applicants for a Nuclear Facility Trainer to design, develop, and deliver technical training programs to support MFC nuclear operations and programs. Formulate course outlines, prepare, and acquire training materials, test, and evaluate test results.

Responsibilities Include :

Develop and implement technical facility-specific training and qualification programs.

You will be required to identify training needs and analyze training requirements.

Develop learning objectives, lesson plans, training support materials, evaluation standards, and written / oral examinations to ensure staff are qualified to perform their tasks following regulations and procedures. Design training to obtain high levels of proficiency and retention.

Review technical procedures, reports, proposals, and other appropriate documents to determine their impact on the training programs and to make recommendations for implementation or revision based on training needs or problems observed during operational or training evolution's. Implement approved recommendations.

Establish and maintain examination question banks. Develop, schedule, administer, grade, and evaluate written and oral exams.

Perform and evaluate classroom and on-the-job training. Ensure assigned training programs follow the requirements of program documents, company procedures, training implementation matrices, and training program plans.

Participate in support activities as assigned, including serving on assessment teams, investigation teams, benchmarking teams, and collaborating with laboratory training organizations.

May coordinate activities to accomplish goals with other trainers.

Evaluate training programs to ensure that requirements are met and that the programs are vigorous and are accomplishing the goals established for delivery of training that prepares employees to perform their jobs. Conduct self-assessment activities required by company procedures, using results to improve the training programs. Track deficiencies and provide timely completion of actions that correct / mitigate deficiencies. Document and implement required corrective measures.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

Level 3 : Bachelor's degree in relevant field in Industrial education, education, engineering, or other technical field and 5 years of relevant experience; or a master's degree in field in Industrial education, education, engineering, or other technical field and 2 years of relevant experience; or a PhD Industrial education, education, engineering, or other technical field and 2 years of relevant experience.

Level 4 : Bachelor's degree in relevant field in Industrial education, education, engineering, or other technical field and 9 years of relevant experience; or a master's degree in field in Industrial education, education, engineering, or other technical field and 6 years of relevant experience; or a PhD Industrial education, education, engineering, or other technical field and 4 years of relevant experience.

Will be able to qualify as Radworker I or II.

Must meet the requirements of DOE Order 426.2 (Personnel Selection, Qualification, and Training requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities).

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

The ideal candidate will possess :

Either currently qualified or previously qualified Senior Reactor Operator.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple training related initiatives or activities from conception to implementation.

Experience implementing the SAT process in commercial or nuclear industries.

Experience developing and delivering reactor training programs, nuclear operations, engineering / technical staff, maintenance (mechanical, electrical, I&C, or work planning or a combination

Job Information :

The pay range for this position is : Level 3 ($77,628 - $159,228) / Level 4 ($93,204 - $191,076). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.

TDP : This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.

Multi-Level : This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.
