Job Summary
Battelle is seeking a Nuclear Facility Operation Specialist is responsible for the safe and effective operation and maintenance of a nuclear power plant facility or a mobile nuclear power plant (MNPP). The position location is Idaho Falls, ID.
Responsibilities
- Serves as an operator for a nuclear power plant (MNPP, Small Modular Reactor, etc.)
- Ensures that preventative maintenance is performed and nonscheduled repairs are completed on schedule and with minimal project impact.
- Analyzes preventative maintenance data to identify trends with equipment performance (e.g. blowers, filters, generators, compressors); interprets data and makes recommendations to management to reduce operational costs.
- Collects radiation data for both area and personnel
- Interfaces with internal and external physical security experts to ensure compliance with U.S. Army nuclear facility requirements.
- Trains support staff on mechanical systems, radiological systems, alarms, and responses.
- Contributes as a subject matter expert on military employment of power production and provides general knowledge support for the overall Battelle MNPP team.
