Battle Ground Academy is a coeducational, college preparatory, independent school serving students in grades PreK-12 in historic Franklin, Tennessee. Founded in 1889, BGA is the oldest PreK-12 independent school in Williamson County, and the core values of character, scholarship, and excellence continue to establish the foundation of the school community to this day. We are always searching for quality substitute teachers to support our community. Assignments may include classroom, teaching assistants, clerical and more. Must have reliable transportation and experience with children.
Requirements
Responsibilities include:
- Follow lesson plans provided by the regular Teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students
- Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment
- Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student
- Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground and in the cafeteria
- Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the available lesson plan
- Sit, squat, bend, and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs (PreK Requirement)
