Position Summary
As a Hardware and Software Tester, you’ll join a team of experienced game developers building AtomEngine, our scalable cloud-based simulation and modeling platform. In this role you’ll work closely with the AtomEngine team to verify our ability to deploy AtomEngine on specific hardware while also helping ensure the overall quality of the software.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn to use and master AtomEngine to create and run wargame scenarios in single-player and multi-player configurations.
- Identify bugs and opportunities for improvement.
- On-site testing in our Salt Lake City devices lab.
- Manage a library of physical devices, ensuring each is catalogued, configured, secured, and safely stored.
- Set up, configure, run, and troubleshoot networked multiplayer sessions over LAN and WAN networks.
- Manage the transfer of big data between the cloud, external hard drives, and laptops/PCs.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and transfer speed issues.
- Collaborate closely with the engineering team to develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and testing strategies tailored to product features and client use cases.
- Communicate effectively with team members to learn new systems quickly, get & stay unblocked, and provide actionable test results in real time.
- Be agile and adaptive to the demands of fast-moving workflows, priorities, and deliverables.
- Create and maintain clear and detailed test plans and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Familiarity with PC gaming hardware and experience building your own computers
- 2 years of experience in video game quality assurance, with a strong understanding of QA principles, methodologies, and processes.
- Proficiency in using industry-standard testing tools and software, such as version control systems, bug tracking systems, and test management tools.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and prioritize testing activities based on project requirements and objectives.
- Concise, effective communication skills (spoken and written).
- Stellar organization skills
Preferred
- Passion for digital wargames and strategy games
- A deep knowledge of military weapons, platforms, strategies, & tactics
Physical Work Requirements
- You can sit, operate a computer, and a phone for extended periods.
- Usually work indoors.
