We are looking for a friendly, outgoing, golf knowledgeable person to work in our Golf Shop. Full-time, benefits eligible, merchandise discounts, food discounts, and FREE GOLF.
Summary:
Working under the direction of the Golf Operations Manager, the Golf Shop Associate assists with all golf operations. He/She is responsible for greeting customers and signing in golfers; opening and closing duties of the Golf Shop. Answering calls and coordinating reservations for tee times and collects green fees and dues. Special focus to include: member/guest satisfaction, assist supervision of outside service staff, assist merchandising, implementing golf tournaments & leagues, assisting with other golf programs designed to improve products and services as well as competitive positioning in the marketplace.
Essential job functions:
· Provide first-class guest services to members/guests with a focus on all golf operations.
· Responsible for activities and functions relating to golf operations including; starting functions, taking reservations, collecting greens fees, golf cart rental.
· Opens and closes the Golf Shop including following procedures for opening and closing the cash register.
· Answers the phone and makes reservations for customers and members.
· Greet and direct all visitors.
· Inform players of course conditions for the day.
· Responsible for running efficient first tee by keeping a group on the tee, a group on deck and a group in the hole. Pair groups to keep a foursome on the tee.
· Effectively manage the tee sheet
· Promote products to members and guests.
· Use cash register to collect golf fees and make retail merchandise sales.
· Assist in implementing departmental operating policies & procedures through training and supervision.
· Help design, organize and implement all aspects of golf tournament operations including creation of cart signs, bag tags, scorecards, format sheets, cart staging and scoring.
· Assist with merchandising operations including planning, ordering, displaying and performing monthly inventory control procedures.
· Assist in maintaining the golf shop, cart shelter and staging, practice facility, grounds and golf course.
· Monitor the appearance and performance of golf shop and outside operations staff.
· Perform additional duties as required.
Requirements
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to frequently sit, stand, bend, kneel, walk and crouch
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., and to lift overhead and push/pull, move lighter objects.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the general game of golf.
- Retail experience a plus.
- Requires ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs.
- A valid driver's license is required.
