Job Summary :
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, including inventory management, tool and equipment maintenance, consumables purchasing, fleet management, and employee training. This role ensures the efficient operation of the warehouse, supports project teams, maintains compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and fosters a collaborative and productive work environment.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities :
Warehouse Operations and Inventory Management :
Manage the tracking, purchasing, and maintenance of all tools, equipment, and consumables using the Hilti app.
o Upload all new tools and equipment, track locations, and maintain service records.
o Ensure timely check-out and return of all company-owned tools and equipment.
o Track and purchase replacement tools and consumables, adhering to budgetary guidelines.
Maintain bulk consumables inventory, ensuring proper stock levels and timely delivery to job sites.
Collaborate with DOC and GS teams to determine tool and equipment needs.
Small Tools and Equipment Maintenance :
Ensure all tools and equipment in the warehouse are serviced and ready for use.
Perform site visits to spot-check that tool maintenance is completed as required.
Hold team members accountable for maintaining equipment per company standards.
Develop and manage the small tools budget, ensuring cost-effective purchases aligned with company protocols.
Fleet Management :
Oversee all company fleet operations, including ordering tabs for BDB-owned equipment and trailers.
o Distribute tabs to drivers and ensure compliance with regulations.
o Schedule windshield replacements and coordinate with Marketing for equipment branding.
Ensure DOT compliance for trailers and maintain relationships with vendors, including Discount Tire and Safelite.
Employee Onboarding and Training :
Prepare standard tool packages for new hires and train employees on warehouse procedures and the Hilti app.
Provide ongoing training to ensure employees adhere to maintenance and tool management protocols.
Deliveries and Pickups :
Establish and communicate a weekly delivery and pick-up schedule for materials and equipment.
Coordinate the delivery of equipment and consumables to sites and timely pick-up of unused items.
Support project teams by pre-building temporary enclosures and other site-specific needs.
Safety Equipment Management :
Maintain inventory of required safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, safety rails, tie-downs, cones, caution tape, and more.
Work with project teams to ensure safety materials are available and comply with BDB standards.
Ground Thaw Unit Maintenance :
Oversee the maintenance of ground thaw units, ensuring proper servicing and availability of poly, blankets, and other necessary components.
Budgeting and Planning :
Develop and manage the CAPEX budget for warehouse operations.
Negotiate with vendors to secure cost-effective pricing for fuel, equipment, and consumables.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Comprehensive knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, fleet management, and supply chain processes, including DOT regulations and equipment maintenance.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train, develop, and onboard employees.
Advanced organizational and multitasking skills to manage competing priorities effectively.
Proficiency in inventory management software, fleet management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills for vendor management and cross-department collaboration.
Physical ability to perform warehouse tasks, including lifting, inspecting equipment, and working in various environmental conditions.
Experience with forklift operation preferred!
Adaptable and proactive, with the ability to anticipate operational needs and implement efficient solutions.
Physical Demands :
Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds regularly.
Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and reach.
Ability to work in outdoor conditions, including extreme temperatures, as needed.
Visual and manual dexterity required for inspecting and handling tools and equipment.
Work Environment :
Work is performed in a warehouse setting, with occasional visits to construction sites.
Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures depending on location.
Occasional travel required to support project teams or meet with vendors.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics, supply chain, or related fields is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse management or a related role.
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record. Class B CDL Preferred (not required, or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
Familiarity with the Hilti app or similar inventory management tools is a plus.
