Position: Design Engineer
Reports to: Chief Engineer
Location: Odessa, FL
Schedule: 8a-5p M-F
The Design Engineer supports the business during all project phases (pre-construction, execution, close-out) with engineering services. The employee works under the guidance of Chief Engineer and Ground Improvement Manager and utilizes the CAD Technician.
Responsibilities:
- Design/value engineering of foundations systems:
- Deep foundations (drilled shafts, ACIP, DDP, etc.)
- Design/VE of ground improvement (vibro-compaction, vibro-replacement)
- Trench stability analyses
- Design of shoring systems
- Maintenance of geotechnical report database/repository
- Work platform design and provision of guidance for implementation of best practices on site
- Review of load test data and maintenance of load test database/repository
- Support project teams in the preparation of pre-construction and close-out submittals
- Lead preparation of shop drawings (e.g. DSM, CSM, jet grout layouts; rebar cages)
- Lead preparation of as-built drawings
Requirements of this Positions:
Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, have a minimum of 2 years' experience in geotechnical or structural design and be authorized to work in the US.
Preference will be given to candidates with P.E. license, Master’s degree and experience in geo-structural design.
