Reports to : Chief Engineer
Position : Full time
Schedule : M-F 8a-5p
Materials Specialist
The Materials Specialist supports the business during tender and execution with materials engineering services. The employee works under the guidance of the Chief Engineer.
Responsibilities : Pre-Construction
- Involved in the evaluation of prospective projects.
- Reviews specifications and drawings regarding construction materials.
- Evaluates ground conditions as they impact construction materials by reviewing geotechnical information such as reports and soil boring logs.
- Prepares mix designs for bidding purposes and evaluates mix designs prepared by subcontractors and suppliers.
- Identifies material-related execution risks and develop strategies to mitigate the risks.
