What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer position at Bauer, Inc.?
POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking an experienced Buyer responsible for the generation and follow-up of vendor quotes and purchase orders. This position will work closely with the Engineering, Manufacturing, and Inventory departments. This role requires attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS includes, but not limited to:
- Generation and follow up of purchase orders for assemblies and raw material/metal supplies
- Maintain standard pricing in ERP system (Visual, a plus)
- Procurement of all materials for custom assemblies and raw material/metal supplies
- Expedite purchased materials as required, ensuring materials are delivered on time
- Negotiate and maintain relationships with current vendors
- Develop new sources to support business needs
- Return and/or replace purchased materials not meeting Bauer specifications and standards
- Maintain Vendor and Inventory masters in ERP
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Associates degree or higher, or 2 years of related experience in a purchasing position
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing company
- General knowledge of hydraulic and electro-mechanical devices is preferred
- Intense, clear focus and a strong desire to succeed
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Strong foundation in PC skills; Microsoft Office Suite, spreadsheets, databases, MRP/ERP systems (Visual ERP system knowledge a plus)
