Description
Purpose and Description:
To produce quality parts using a variety of tube bending processes and manual and computer numerical control (CNC) tube bending machines.
1st shift Monday thru Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm
2nd shift Monday thru Friday 3:30pm - 2:00am
Major Responsibilities:
- Set up, program and operate manual and CNC tube bending machines
- Follow quality procedures document as necessary
- Inspection of parts using a variety of measuring tools
Other Responsibilities:
- Set up workstation and appropriately select dies, fixtures, mandrels and other tools for the assigned job
- Operate machines such as drill presses, punch presses, manual mills, end formers, horizontal and vertical saws
- Process job packets accurately using a computer
- Maintain confidentiality of customer information in blue prints used or designed by Bauer
- Adhere to all safety policies
- Maintain commitment to safety, ethics and professionalism

Qualifications
Desired Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills /Abilities:
- Vocational training in metal fabrication or machining
- Experience bending round and square tubing preferred
- Blueprint reading and understanding
- Basic math skills including fractions and decimals
- Accurate use of measuring equipment such as tapes, calipers, height gauges, and angle indicators
- Accurate documentation
- Versatility
- Ability to work under pressure against tight deadlines
- Problem solving skills
- Analytical ability
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Dexterity
Physical Requirements and Environment:
- May require frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Some time working near moving mechanical parts
- Majority of time standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, carrying, pushing, pulling
- Handling, speaking, hearing, seeing, color vision, depth perception
- Rotation of more physically demanding regular parts, which may include long term runs
- Indoor, seasonally air-conditioned and heated, machine shop environment
- Frequent noise
- Frequent exposure to chemicals, dirt, oils, solvents, paints, dust
- Eye, hand, and hearing protection are required in the production area (employer provided)
- Must pass pre-placement drug screen before starting employment
Tools and Equipment:
CNC and Manual tube bending machines
Various fabrication machines (saws, punch presses, end forming machines, grinders, press brakes, perforators)
Measuring equipment - Tape measures (standard and Metric), caliper (6), and angle indicator
Hand tools - standard and metric hex wrenches, 1/2 hex wrench, combination wrenches (1/4 - 1 ¼), screwdriver set, pliers set, and 1 Vise Grip (10 curved jaw)
