Bauer Welding & Metal Fabricators, the premier contract manufacturer in metal fabrication for over 75 years, is looking for a full-time Estimator. This person will estimate manufacturing costs for parts we produce and collaborate closely with our sales and engineering teams to ensure accurate, competitive quotes.
Candidates must have a solid understanding of manufacturing processes in a similar environment gained through direct experience.
This position will work days, Monday through Friday, at our location in Mounds View, MN. The pay range for this role is $72,000-$90,000, but actual pay will be based on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and estimate production costs, including materials, labor, and lead time requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the sales team to prepare accurate, timely, and competitive quotes for customers.
- Review and analyze customer drawings, specifications, and other documentation to accurately estimate costs.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of estimates, and communications with internal teams and customers.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Demonstrated strength in analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated strength in communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with sales, engineering and production team.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical part drawings
- Demonstrated strength in attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills
- Must have demonstrated efficiency in MS Office Suite (specifically Excel) and MRP software (EPICOR experience preferred)
- Previous experience in sales or customer service is a plus.
Working Conditions: Office environment with extensive sitting at desk and computer, some standing, bending as the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally. Occasional manufacturing environment requiring safety glasses.
Salary : $72,000 - $90,000
