Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Supervisor to oversee all maintenance operations within our metal fabrication facility. This role is responsible for managing both equipment and facility maintenance, ensuring safety, reliability, and operational efficiency across the shop. Our facility includes tube and sheet lasers, robotic and manual welders, and a full range of metal fabrication machinery, as well as general building systems.
Shift/Location: Days, Monday-Friday, On-site
Pay Range: $81,768 - $90,000.00
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, schedule, and coordinate the daily work of the maintenance team
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance on:
- Tube and sheet laser cutting systems
- Robotic and manual welding equipment
- Press brakes, shears, and other metal fabrication machinery
- CNC and automation systems
- Manage facility-related systems and upkeep, including:
- HVAC, electrical, and lighting systems
- Compressed air systems, plumbing, and general building maintenance
- Grounds and exterior maintenance as needed
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans for equipment and facility infrastructure
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and support workflow
- Maintain safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and company policies
- Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies
- Coordinate vendor relationships for equipment servicing, facility contracts, and outsourced maintenance projects
- Source, evaluate, and manage third-party contractors and service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective work
- Keep detailed records of all maintenance work, inspections, and facility improvements
- Train, mentor, and evaluate maintenance personnel
Other Responsibilities:
- Order parts, equipment, and support for efficient repairs and maintenance
- Maintain records: repairs, purchase orders, inspections
- Perform or oversee facility maintenance (HVAC, cooling systems, ductwork, runoff management)
- Coordinate forklift, crane repairs, and hazardous waste disposal with vendors
- Represent the company during inspections (Fire Marshal, OSHA, etc.)
- Manage external vendors (lawn care, snow removal, trash, recycling)
- Keep facilities and grounds clean and organized
- Document and standardize all Bauer systems (boiler, heat pump, cooling, etc.)
- Repair machines directly when needed
- Provide Lockout/Tagout and other safety training
Qualifications

- Strong root cause analysis and repair planning skills
- Hands-on and capable of making repairs when needed
- Proficient in managing Preventive Maintenance (Limble)
- Effectively diagnose issues, plan and prioritize repairs, estimate timelines, and communicate status to stakeholders
Requirements
- Proven maintenance management experience
- Skilled in planning and executing maintenance operations
- Strong knowledge of facility equipment and machinery
- Confident in tracking and reporting maintenance activity
- Open to feedback; team-oriented mindset required
- Strong organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills
- Capable of quick diagnostics and in-house repairs; knows when to involve external support
- Proficient with Outlook and Excel
- Flexible and able to prioritize effectively
Desired Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills /Abilities:
- 5 years of manufacturing repair experience
- Electrical/electronic technical training completed
- Skilled in PLC programming and repair
- Proficient with prints, diagrams, schematics, and programs
- Capable of fabricating/modifying parts using shop equipment
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics systems
- Familiar with welding equipment
- Boiler license preferred
- Strong communication with vendors and service techs
- Able to follow verbal and written repair instructions
- Understanding of machine sequence logic
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and machine guarding
Physical Requirements and Environment:
- May require frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Some time working near moving mechanical parts
- Majority of time standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, carrying, pushing, pulling
- Handling, speaking, hearing, seeing, color vision, depth perception
- Primarily indoor, seasonally air-conditioned and heated, machine shop environment
- Frequent noise
- Frequent exposure to chemicals, dirt, oils, solvents, paints, dust
- Eye protection is required in the production area (employer provided)
