Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
Summary
Work closely with and following instructions of Laboratory Coordinator and Director in performing diagnostic test procedures on various patient specimens following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) with careful attention to safety, quality control and regulatory guidelines. Other duties include but are not limited to collection, preparation, and processing of patient specimens, careful documentation of all processes, performance and interpretation of quality assurance activities, maintenance of various pieces of complex diagnostic equipment and other duties as necessary for the smooth operation of Laboratory Services. Participate in developing new procedures and process improvements. Detect possible discrepancies in and confirm abnormal test results. Work with LIS Administrator for effective, efficient data management and with the Director for QA, PI, Compliance, regulatory, inspection and other assigned duties.
Job Requirements
Education: Associate Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent
Experience: At least one year technical and LIS experience preferred
Certifications: MLT (ASCP), MLT(HEW/HHS) or MLT(AMT)
Other: Section Specialty Certification, Working knowledge of computers and laboratory equipment.
Safety Sensitive Designation
This position is deemed safety sensitive in accordance with Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana.
