SUMMARY:
This position is filled by a nursing assistant who, as a result of educational and clinical experience, possesses the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide direct patient care. Ensures quality focused and cost-effective care delivery outcomes; functions within a collaborative practice to enhance quality of care; and participates in continuous quality improvement activities.
Responsible and accountable for basic patient care, timely notification to appropriate staff on completion of patient care and for patient status changes on the assigned shift. Responsible for adhering to all standards of patient care and promoting a team effort among co-workers. Responsible and accountable to know, own, and energize the vision, mission, values and standards of the hospital.
Job Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent or minimum score of Bronze on the Career Readiness Certification (“CRC”) certificate. If interested in obtaining CRC register as a Job Seeker at www.ARJobLink.Arkansas.gov.
- Experience: No minimum experience required. One (1) year experience preferred.
- Certifications: Current Arkansas nursing assistant certification preferred. BLS required. Safety Care Certification required within six (6) months.
Safety Sensitive Designation:
This position is deemed safety sensitive in accordance with Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without an accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform the following: Must have the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to solve problems and make decisions. Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, twist up to or exceeding 8 to 12 hours during shift(s). Occasionally requires lifting of 50 pounds or more of equipment. Able to push in excess of 150 pound wheelchair with patient or equipment. Occasionally lift patients with assist 125 pounds or more. Spends 8 hours or more in front of computer, monitor or similar screen utilizing keyboard and/or mouse. Must be able to respond quickly in emergency situations of potentially combative patients, CPR and obtaining equipment. Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure. Has a keen sense of awareness (visual and auditory) and ability to recognize changes in patients to prevent behavioral crises.
