SUMMARY: The Sous Chef is responsible for leading and/or participating in the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of catered foods. Coordinates catering functions, set up, and clean up.
BAXTER HEALTH COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Understands and adheres to Baxter Health standards as they appear in HealthStream Policy Manager.
Required to work with the Food Service Director regularly to carryout, initiate and/or implement best practices for the Baxter Health Food Services Department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of culinary school or equivalent on the job training program preferred.
Experience: Minimum 1-2 years previous work experience. Previous supervisory/lead chef experience preferred.
Certification: Certificate of Achievement in ServSafe Manager within 6 months from date of hire.
Other: Working knowledge of computer systems to include, Microsoft Office and other position related software.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a position in a hospital setting which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Flexible work schedule depending on catering needs, 5 days a week, Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts. May be required to work during inclement weather, emergency (Code yellow), and holidays.
