SUMMARY:
Responsible and accountable for working to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, voice, fluency, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of and degree holder from a speech-language pathology program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology
Preferred experience: 12 to 18 months related experience, excluding clinical affiliations required to complete a degree; must be able to do Modified Barium Swallow Test
Certifications: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
Current Arkansas Speech-Language Pathology license in good standing required
Current CPR certification
Preferred Education: Master’s or Doctoral Degree

This position is deemed safety sensitive in accordance with Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without an accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform the following: Must have the ability to: communicate effectively, orally and in writing; focus with attention to detail, solve problems and make decisions; show compassion to those in pain/functional loss; handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure. Must be able to stand and walk, and bend, stoop and twist, push, pull and occasionally lift up to 250lbs for up to 8 hours each day. Requires repetitive hand movements. Must have a keen sense of hearing and visual acuity. Must have good manual dexterity. Must be able to operate a computer keyboard and PC mouse to utilize computer software for patient care documentation.
Work Environment:
Patient care setting: within a hospital environment and in an outpatient setting.
There is potential risk for exposure to communicable diseases and blood or other body fluids.
