What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sterile Hall Technician - Central Sterile Department position at Baxter Health?
Responsible and accountable for managing the sterile supply and sterile instrument needs of the OR.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education : High school diploma or equivalent
Experience : No experience required, willing to train. Previous Central Sterile or Sterile Hall experience preferred.
Other : Basic computer knowledge required. Strong customer service skills, detail oriented, organized and able to multitask in a face-paced, high stress environment. Able to identify and remain aware of “sterile field” boundaries and clean access areas, while performing job duties.
Preferred Education : Certification and / or experience in related field.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without an accommodation. Must have the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to solve problems and make decisions. Ability to stand and walk, bends, stoops and twists and frequently lifts, pushes and / or pulls stocked case carts and boxes of supplies up to 100 pounds. Must be able to push stocked case carts and move boxes of supplies. Able to utilize computer monitor or similar screen utilizing keyboard and / or mouse daily. Must have a keen sense of hearing and visual acuity. Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure. May be subject to inside environmental conditions, hazards (including electrical currents and exposure to high heat and chemicals) and infectious diseases.
Work Environment : Hospital Setting
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a position in a hospital setting which is open 24hours a day, 365 days per year. Work during inclement weather will be required.
