Your role at Simtra BioPharma Solutions:
The Vice President of Applications will be a senior member of the Technology Leadership team and key business partner to lead the achievement of our strategic objectives through the implementation and continuous improvement of our technology applications. This role will oversee a team of highly skilled professionals blended between staff members, consulting partners, and offshore providers and will be accountable for delivering innovative and high-quality software solutions that align with our business objectives and achieve measurable business results and improvements. The successful candidate will possess a strong track record of leading application implementation teams, leading application rationalization efforts, leading large scale and small scale project implementations, and can clearly demonstrate relationship and influence skills when working with other senior members of the enterprise leadership team.
What you'll do:
- Application Implementation - This individual will be responsible for the overall success and configuration of all application implementations to ensure that they meet or exceed our business objectives and internal customer's expectations.
- Application Architecture and Software Selection - In conjunction with the VP of Technology, VP of Project & Portfolio Management, and the CIO, as a senior leader on the enterprise leadership team, provide expertise and guidance on the software selection, implementation, and sequencing of all application implementation efforts.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of application analysts, systems analysts, external providers, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Manage Partners: lead, select, cull and manage our systems integrators and application implementors. Create and nurture strategic partnerships that will drive the most value for our enterprise.
- Provide expertise in transformations, and most specifically, in the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics ERP.
- Application Development & Implementation: In partnership with the VP of Technology and the VP of Project and Portfolio Management, oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from concept to delivery, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Technology Innovation: Keep abreast of new technologies, trends, and best practices in application development, and recommend innovative solutions that improve our competitiveness.
- Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocate resources, both human and financial, to maximize the productivity and output of the application team and partners to provide the maximum value to our enterprise.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, quality assurance, and IT infrastructure, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of software solutions.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain robust quality assurance processes and practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable applications that meet or exceed FDA guidelines and requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to application projects.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the departmental budget, tracking expenses and ensuring optimal resource utilization.
- Reporting and Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of the application development function, regularly reporting progress to senior leadership.
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field
- 15 years of IT experience selecting, implementing, and managing application teams; with 4 years leading an applications team
- Demonstrated ERP implementation successes at various levels and various responsibilities
- Working knowledge of application industry and partners, including emerging applications and trends
- Excellent analytical, oral, and written communications skills
- Effective listener and relationship builder across the organization
- Straightforward to deal with, enjoyable to work with
- Preferred - understands manufacturing and healthcare/life sciences industries
- Preferred - understands applications software packages required to support corporate functions and CDMO: Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization
- Application functionality including ERP/MRP. Within Life Sciences, Quality Management and Lab Management Systems experience preferred.
- Preferred experience with MS Dynamics 365 implementations
- Understands emerging technologies (e.g., machine learning, RPA, chatbots, data lakes, BI analytical and visualization tools)
- Understands how to manage 3rd party application support vendors
- Hires strong people, sets appropriate goals, create an environment that promotes initiative, proactive feedback and coaching, and continuous learning
- Has managed large software selection and implementation projects
- Has managed an application support function
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Simtra BioPharma Solutions, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $200,000 - $300,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commission, and/or long-term incentive.
