SUMMARY : This position is filled by a licensed practical nurse who as a result of educational and clinical experience in nursing, possesses the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide nursing care; ensures quality focused and cost-effective care delivery outcomes; functions within a collaborative practice to enhance quality of care; and participates in continuous quality improvement activities. # Responsible and accountable for direct patient care within scope of practice for assigned patients on the nursing unit under the direction of a registered nurse within the nursing team. Responsible and accountable for the care given to the patient and for the decision regarding which nursing tasks can be safely delegated to licensed and unlicensed persons involved in patient care. Must be competent in a wide variety of nursing skills. Responsible for adhering to all standards of nursing care and promoting a team effort among co-workers. Responsible and accountable to know, own and energize the mission, values and standards of the hospital. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education : Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Licensure : Current AR or Compact State LPN license in good standing. Experience : Minimum of one year experience is preferred. Applicants with no experience will be required to successfully complete a residency program. Certification : BLS required. Other : Ability to read, write and communicate effectively. Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure.# Has a keen sense of hearing and keen visual acuity to respond to critical changing patient situations from actual observations and / or equipment alarms.# May be subject to inside environmental conditions, hazards (including electrical currents and exposure to high heat and chemicals) and infectious diseases. May have to function around prisoners or mental patients.
