Your Role
The Director of IT for Human Resources will serve as a strategic partner and business relationship manager to the HR leadership team. This pivotal role will empower the HR function to achieve its strategic objectives, optimize technical investments, cultivate innovation, and uphold Baxter’s competitive edge in the market.
To excel in this position, the Director must engage with HR leaders to enhance their understanding of digital and technological advancements while collaborating on business strategies and outcomes. This collaboration will ensure that the technology suite and roadmap deliver substantial business value.
As a critical leader within the organization, the Director will provide industry-leading insights on the value of technology, influence technology investment decisions, and act as the primary liaison for HR functions. This role will be accountable for maintaining relationships with IT team members, ensuring alignment across IT functions, and promoting process fluency.
What will you be doing
- Strategic Partnership Development: Nurture strong collaborative partnerships across HR portfolios to ensure that long-term HR strategies are well understood and aligned with the technology roadmap.
- Accountability for IT Services: Oversee all aspects of IT services, whether led locally or provided by other groups within the IT organization, ensuring service delivery meets established SLAs.
- Escalation Management: Handle the escalation process effectively when service delivery failures occur, ensuring timely resolution and communication.
- HR Analytics Strategy Advancement: Collaborate with data, analytics, and automation teams to improve the HR Analytics strategy, driving data-driven decision-making.
- Digital Employee Experience Enhancement: Partner with the ServiceNow team to advance the Digital Employee Experience, ensuring seamless interactions for all HR-related services.
- Leadership and Team Management: Provide leadership, direction, and people management for IT teams passionate about business relationship management and product ownership, fostering a culture of high performance.
- Strategic Direction and Goal Setting: Develop strategic direction and establish clear goals that align team objectives, policies, and procedures with expected outcomes.
- Security and Compliance: Define, implement, communicate, and enforce security standards and processes to safeguard organizational data and compliance.
- Budget Management: Develop and lead a comprehensive budget, including operating and capital expenses, ensuring financial accountability and strategic allocation of resources.
- Productivity Metrics Development: Build, gather, and measure relevant efficiency metrics, communicating insights to senior management regularly to drive continuous improvement.
- Vendor Relationship Management: Lead significant vendor relationships, primarily focusing on SaaS solutions, ensuring optimal service delivery and value.
- Voice of HR in Global IT: Serve as the representative voice of HR functions within the Global IT framework, advocating for HR needs and priorities.
What will you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field; MBA or MS preferred.
- 10-15 years of experience in Information Systems, with a strong background across multiple areas of IT.
- Proven ability to make sound decisions and build long-term strategic plans.
- Expertise in cloud technologies, preferably in Workday, Cornerstone on Demand, UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group), and SAP Fieldglass.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead collaborators and meet their expectations.
- Proficient in resolving conflicts and solving problems at the executive level.
- Ability to work with cross-functional, matrixed teams to deliver on common goals.
- Strong interpersonal skills for developing relationships with team members, peers, leaders, and customers.
- Ability to evaluate, interpret, and incorporate financial data into the decision-making process.
- Proven ability to drive maximum organizational efficiency through a strong understanding of core people-related processes.
- Ability to direct multiple projects, set priorities, and lead teams across various functions and portfolios.
- Strategic problem solver with strong influencing skills and the ability to quickly build trust and establish relationships.
- Strong understanding of Agile principles and processes.
- In-depth knowledge of industry market conditions and trends.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $184,000-253,000 USD annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and/or long-term incentive.
