What are the responsibilities and job description for the Key Account Manager position at Baxters North America Inc?
Scope of Job: This position is responsible for both new business development and everyday management of accounts. The primary responsibility includes managing every aspect of daily operations for a portfolio of customers, achieving top-line revenue goals, profit targets and creating effective relationships among functional touch points between the Company and customer targets. The Key Account Manager will report to the Senior Director of Strategic Accounts.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Attain or exceed volume and profitability targets established for assigned portfolio.
- Maintain and nurture current client relationships and identify areas for potential expansion (top and bottom line) through innovation, initiatives, ways of working.
- Develop sales presentations, business initiatives, new items and category updates.
- Submission of Cost Changes/New Item set-up forms.
- Execute pricing strategies consistent with internal guidelines, approvals and contract terms.
- Maintain an accurate volume forecast.
- Understand customers KPIs and Baxter’s KPIs and build a plan to align them.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams on new business development activity/progress.
- Meet with customers regularly, with focus on capabilities to close sales.
- Collaborate with production and supporting departments to ensure the food safety and quality of our products.
- Negotiate new contracts and contract renewals, with established controls and approvals.
- Act as the liaison between customers and internal stakeholders including Planning, Procurement, Operations, Quality, R&D and Thermal Processing in the development and commercialization of products.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience: 5 years’ experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods is required, specifically within the retail, grocery, co-manufacturing industry.
