Scope of Job:
Primary objective of this role is to provide the finite scheduling function for the BNA manufacturing facilities (Cincinnati, OH, East Bernstadt, KY, Salem, OR) for purposes of driving overall Supply excellence in customer service and inventory management working within the framework of the BNA S&OP process and the manufacturing site capacities and capabilities. Utilizing ERP tools to implement supply chain and scheduling strategies to provide the most cost-effective supply solutions. Contributing to a total supply chain cost management and operational control, trade-off decisions related to current and future portfolio development. Providing functional expertise in the current business operations scheduling.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Receive and implement the MPS plan from BNA’s Central Planning team, verifying accuracy of horizons, and assigning weekly volumes to daily schedules withing the ERP.
- Maintaining a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule within the framework of the BNA S&OP guidelines.
- Evaluate mfg. rates, capacity utilization of assets and production value streams to ensure optimized schedules which balance requirements across the network a total cost mindset.
- Partner with BNA Planning team and Site Operations team to enable optimal cost solutions related to execution of a supply plan.
- Communicate resource capacity constraints or crewing recommendations to relieve bottlenecks and ensure sufficient supply.
- Recommend supply chain solutions and update daily schedules working closely with Planning and Procurement teams (BNA and Site SC team).
- Provide schedule attainment and other reporting to drive overall supply chain effectiveness through a continuous PDCA cycle.
- Act as the SPOC for the site or segment assigned for supply chain KPI’s and overall plan adherence.
- Develop scheduling strategies to provide CI of site output, inventory, and cost.
- Primary interface is with BNA Supply Planning, Factory Value Stream Mgrs., Plant Mgr., Procurement Team, and Warehousing/Logistics staffs.
- Develop and execute a weekly process of plan review, constraint management, and then convert to daily schedule requirements (0 to 4 weeks).
- Ensure requirements are maintained for medium term horizon (up to 12 months).
- Identify critical constraints and bottlenecks presented plan and partner with the BNA Planning team to create solutions supporting excellent customer service.
- Assist in schedule, rate and capacity reviews for new customer project volumes and timing, including ramp-up plans and learning curves.
- Development of optimum scheduling strategies for optimal cycle pattern sequencing.
- Assist Planning with measurement and documentation of BNA KPI’s; establish weekly/monthly supply chain performance reports and KPI dashboards.
- Review with Operational team schedule adherence and request CI actions where performance is less than standard, working with the Site IE and VSM’s.
- Foster timely and positive communication links to and from the BNA Planning team.
- Review and report slow-moving and obsolete material risk and coordinate local corrective actions.
- Collaborate with production and supporting departments to ensure the food safety and quality of our products.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: Undergraduate or associate degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, Engineer, or related field required in food manufacturing preferred.
Experience: 2-4 years of experience in Supply Chain Planning, Finite Scheduling function required in food manufacturing preferred. 1-3 years of experience operations lead or supervisor role.
