What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sanitor- 3rd Shift position at Baxters North America Inc?
SUMMARY OF JOB
Supports plant sanitation in the effective use of chemicals, cleaning processes, sanitation equipment, disassembles and cleans equipment to comply with regulatory aspects of Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and USDA guidelines. Eliminate sources of contamination, maintain low bacteria count and report damaged or unsafe equipment. Requires understanding various chemicals and sanitation procedures in food safety. This position works a non-traditional work schedule where weekends are part of the expected work week.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop and audit Sanitation & Operations SWES
- Interpret allergen matrixes and conduct allergen and ATP testing accordingly
- Obtain scissor lift and fork lift certifications
- Interpret Production setup board and set up equipment without assistance
- Clean interior and exterior of processing and manufacturing equipment
- Prepare sanitation chemicals and equipment
- Set up equipment in preparation for use by manually lifting and moving equipment and/or chemicals
- Read, understand and follow standard operating procedures.
- Ability to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
- Must have mechanical skills such as assembling and disassembling equipment
- Clean and sanitize production equipment and areas in a timely manner
- Rinse and clean all conveyors, rollers, hoppers, etc. with high pressure hoses
- Clean and rinse drains in assigned areas
- Clean, rinse, and sanitize all tools and utensils
- Remove all excess water, grease, and other materials as required
- Perform general housekeeping in accordance to 5s
- Follow LOTO procedures
- Ability to work the scheduled/assigned times and required overtime for position
- Ability to follow instructions
- Good communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work individually as well as with others as a team
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
EXPERIENCE
- Related training, or at least one month of related experience. Should be mechanically inclined with an emphasis on disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of processing equipment.
