Description
Title V Program Enrollee: Individuals 55 , currently unemployed, seeking training or on the job experience and meeting income guidelines, are eligible.
Provides custodian services at Bay Aging properties in Montross (Mill Pond, Parker Run and Montross office) and cleans as needed the ALC in Colonial Beach and assists with Meals on Wheels. Pay rate: $12.00/hr. Schedule is 20 hours/week.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Custodial Duties
- Cleans Restrooms
- Cleans kitchen area, wipes refrigerator, counter tops, and cabinets.
- Cleans laundry room.
- Cleans Community room: Wipes down tables and bookshelf.
- Cleans Offices
- Vacuums and/or sweeps and mops all appropriate areas, restroom, community room, kitchen, hallway, offices, and laundry room.
- Dust all furniture.
- Cleans and dusts all windows.
- Replenishes all toilet paper/ paper towels in restrooms/ kitchen.
- Empties all waste baskets and takes garbage to disposal area.
- Reports to the host site supervisor for cleaning a unit during a moveout.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
ALC Duties
Assist Center Manager as needed to:
- Prepare Meals on Wheels (MOWs) for distribution to volunteers.
- Assists with cooking (oven) of meals for Center Attendees
- Assists in activities of Center Attendees as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of cleaning protocols, materials, and equipment
- WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Works in variety of properties cleaning. Physical requirements include the ability to lift 15lbs, walking, and climbing stairs.
Qualifications
• High School diploma or GED.
FLSA status: This is a non-exempt position.
