Position Overview:
As the Bar Manager and Assistant Bar Manager, you will be responsible for creating and managing a cutting-edge beverage program that enhances our restaurant's dining experience. You will curate an innovative selection of sake, highball cocktails, Japanese beers, and Mediterranean wines, while training our bar staff to deliver exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
Beverage Program Development: Curate an innovative beverage menu that reflects the restaurant’s Mediterranean and Asian fusion concept, focusing on sake, highball cocktails, Japanese beers, and Mediterranean wines.
Menu Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen to ensure the bar program complements the food menu with unique pairings and seasonal beverages.
Staff Training & Management: Hire, train, and lead the bar team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and hospitality.
Inventory & Cost Control: Manage bar inventory, ordering, and cost controls to ensure profitability and efficiency.
Customer Experience: Deliver exceptional guest experiences with creative drinks and outstanding service.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and liquor laws.
Assistant Manager Responsibilities: Support the General Manager in daily operations, oversee staff scheduling, assist with service management during peak hours, and help maintain high operational standards across all areas of the restaurant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cocktail Program Development: Curate an innovative and ever-evolving cocktail menu that reflects the restaurant’s Mediterranean and Asian fusion concept. Create new, seasonal cocktails that highlight fresh ingredients and creative techniques.
- Wine List Management: Develop and manage a dynamic wine list that complements the restaurant’s menu and appeals to a diverse clientele.
- Menu Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen to ensure the bar program enhances the restaurant’s overall dining experience. Incorporate flavor pairings and unique beverage ideas that complement the food menu.
- Staff Training & Management: Hire, train, and manage the bar team, ensuring high levels of service, consistency, and efficiency. Maintain a strong culture of hospitality, team collaboration, and professional growth.
- Inventory & Cost Control: Manage inventory, ordering, and costs to ensure the bar operates profitably and efficiently. Implement effective inventory tracking systems and strategies to minimize waste.
- Customer Service & Guest Experience: Ensure a welcoming and engaging bar atmosphere by providing excellent service and fostering strong guest relationships. Build a loyal customer base by delivering an unforgettable experience.
- Compliance: Ensure the bar operates in full compliance with health and safety standards, as well as liquor laws.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience as a bartender or bar manager in a high-end or upscale dining environment.
- Proven expertise in curating cocktail menus, designing wine lists, and developing seasonal beverages.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and training staff.
- Knowledge of Mediterranean and Asian spirits and flavors is a plus.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with bar inventory management, cost control, and ordering.
