As the Health and Wellness Center Coordinator, you will spearhead the development, coordination, and ongoing sustainability of the Center, serving as a key resource for students and families. Your leadership will be instrumental in assessing the school community's needs, designing and implementing effective strategies, and ensuring services are available to enhance overall well-being. You’ll work closely with a team of professionals, school staff, and community partners to create an integrated and supportive health and wellness ecosystem. 

Benefits:

  • Salary Range: 70,000-75,000 annually (depending on experience)
  • Full Time, Exempt position
  • Approximately 9 weeks off per year (including holidays)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to collect, interpret, and analyze data from a variety of sources, evaluate that data, and make recommendations based on the evaluation 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), including active listening 
  • Demonstrated ability in grassroots community organizing and leadership development
  • Knowledge of community resources 
  • Ability to build and lead high-functioning teams and facilitate groups 
  • Cultural sensitivity and a demonstrated commitment to equity and social justice
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and effective working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders and people from varied backgrounds
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and respond to deadlines while working on multiple tasks
  • Knowledge of political, economic, and social barriers to educational equity
  • Skilled in Google Suite 
  • Ability to work independently and without close supervision.  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, education, or related field, and three years of experience (experience may substitute education)
  • Experience working with low-income communities

Responsibilities:

Management and Administration

  • Facilitate an effective CARE team to ensure equitable access to Tier 2 and Tier 3 targeted interventions, including managing referrals, progress monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Lead ongoing needs assessments to evaluate the health and wellness needs of the school community. Utilize the data to design innovative systems and services that address the diverse needs of students, families, and staff.
  • As appropriate, participate in the School Site Council, ILT, Culture Climate team, and attendance team to support the integration of services and school priorities.
  • Identify, develop, and sustain resources for the Health and Wellness Center, ensuring continuous improvement in services.
  • Effectively triage and manage the needs of students visiting the Health and Wellness Center, ensuring that appropriate services and interventions are provided in a timely and supportive manner.
  • Manage the daily operations of the Health and Wellness Center, including budgeting, record-keeping, reporting, and program evaluation. Ensure the center runs smoothly, effectively, and efficiently in alignment with the site’s goals.
  • Responsible for meeting agency, district, and state reporting requirements.

Engagement and Collaboration

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, caregivers, administrators, teachers, staff, community leaders, and local organizations.
  • Conduct community asset mapping to identify resources to meet the gaps and hopes uncovered in the needs and asset assessment. 
  • Establish and oversee partnerships with local businesses, community-based organizations, and local government agencies to ensure shared accountability, effectiveness, and alignment with the school’s goals. 
  • Organize and implement health and wellness initiatives/ events that engage students and families in the school’s priorities and goals. 
  • Create/ support a student leadership group that elevates student voice, leadership development, and decision-making in the Health and Wellness Center/ school’s systems and programs.    

Advocacy

  • Serve as an advocate for the needs and interests of the school’s staff, students, and their families in the broader community.
  • Participate in advocacy efforts that promote educational equity and social justice.

Above is the pay range for this position that we reasonably expect to pay. Individual compensation is based on various factors including experience/education, skillset, and geographic location.
