About the job
Black River Diamond Company, Medford’s leading fine jewelry and diamond store, seeks a Store Manager to oversee daily operations which consistently achieve the company’s sales and profit objectives. They are responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the key business driving departments of the store. This position reports to the store owner and Director of Sales.
Key responsibilities include:
- Achieve store sales goals by demonstrating strong personal selling skills and transferring those skills to sales associates
- Ensure all associates are knowledgeable of company policies and are proficient in solving customer service issues quickly
- Consistently recruit, interview and hire top talent
- Provide ongoing training to the sales team
- Facilitate regular one-on-one coaching discussions to provide continual feedback to improve performance
- Create and implement strategies to achieve sales and profit objectives
- Supervise the merchandise to achieve departmental goals and objectives and support company initiatives
- Provide input and accountability to Marketing department to drive customer footsteps into the store and effectively promote store products
- Maintain a professional work environment and address associate relations issues appropriately
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proven history of achieving sales goals in retail jewelry environment
- Direct experience supervising merchandise category, vendor or department
- Familiarity and experience developing promotional events and associated advertising
- Strong direct recruiting skills
- Ability to supervise others to achieve results
- Superior communication, conflict management and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to manage a variety of personalities
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, retail management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to relocate is a plus
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Pay: $55,000 to $65,000 annual salary. Additional bonus earning potential up to $30,500 annually.
