Job Overview:
We are a periodontal office seeking a part-time temporary surgical dental assistant on Monday and Tuesday.
Responsibilities:
- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by providing necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery, including sterilizing equipment and ensuring aseptic technique is followed
- Set up and maintain surgical instruments and equipment
- Monitor patient vital signs during surgery and report any changes to the surgical team
- Assist with patient positioning and draping
- Handle specimens for laboratory analysis
- Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures and patient records
- Follow infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infections
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience as a Surgical Assistant or in a related role is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dental terminology, surgical procedures, and sterile techniques
- Proficient in using dental imaging software, such as CAD, X-Ray, or other relevant tools
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with surgeons.
