What are the responsibilities and job description for the System Engineer – Lab Support - WA position at Bay Area TeK Solutions LLC?
Key Responsibilities :
1. Lab Support and Coordination :
o Serve as the primary liaison between lab support and the power crew.
o Provide on-site support during employee absences to maintain lab stability.
o Manage, plan, and schedule all common resources (space, power, cooling,
cabling, etc.) in the lab environment.
o Troubleshoot layer 0, 1, and 2 lab-related issues to resolution.
2. Training and Documentation :
o Conduct training sessions on optical installations and related processes.
o Regularly update online documentation to reflect current practices and
configurations.
o Participate in design discussions.
o Engage third-party turf vendors to assist with layer 0, 1, and 2 as required by
projects.
3. System Configuration and Set-Up of Testing Environment :
o Configure and set up D2 servers, BBUs, and WiFi systems as needed.
o Set up and configure Ethernet Control Attenuators and IP phones.
4. Asset Management :
o Maintain accurate rack elevations of all RAN equipment in the labs.
o Collect and document asset and serial number information for lab
equipment, ensuring accurate entry into NetBox.
5. Design and Documentation :
o Develop and maintain CPRI and OAM cabling designs and documentation.
o Knowledge of data cabling specifications, characteristics, and termination of
various cable types.
o General knowledge of rack and stack practices.
o General knowledge of power cabling and distribution
