What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Front Desk Receptionist position at Bay Area Wellness Group, PC?
We are looking for a pleasant Medical Front Desk Coordinator to undertake all receptionist and clerical duties at the front desk. You will be the “face” of the office for all patients and will be responsible for the first impression we make.
The ideal candidate will have an upbeat friendly attitude and easy-going personality while also being very perceptive and disciplined. You should be able to deal with uneasy and unexpected patient situations and provide patients with accurate information. A customer-oriented approach is essential.
The goal is to make patients feel comfortable and valued during their visits.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
- Optimize patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
- Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule; reminding provider of service delays.
- Comfort patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area.
- Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
- Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Obtain revenue by recording and updating financial information; recording and collecting patient charges; controlling credit extended to patients.
- Maintain business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies.
- Help patients in distress by responding to emergencies.
- Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
- Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
