What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fluids Dismantler position at Bay Auto Parts?
GENERAL SUMMARY: Remove parts for Work Orders and dispose of waste oil, fuel, mercury switches, batteries, and other hazardous materials in an Eco-Friendly manor by following company procedures. Potential to move to Pay by Performance in the future.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Safely removing parts from vehicles for inventory or customer pickup.
· Following dismantling procedures set by the company.
· Maintaining OSHA and other safety compliance.
· Tagging inventory and processing cores.
· Proper handling and processing of hazardous automotive materials such as fuel, batteries, refrigerant, mercury switches, Air bags, etc.
· Regular moving heavy items such as doors, transmissions, engines, etc.
· Ensures accurate descriptions for parts added to bins.
· Ensure parts ordered match Work Order descriptions.
· Communicate with supervisor to ensure prompt and accurate completion of Work Orders.
· Clean and prepare parts for customer pickup/delivery or stock.
· Keeping work area clean and safe.
· Assists in maintaining a safe work environment.
· Assist Building and Grounds Supervisor or Shop Supervisor, as needed.
SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Working knowledge of auto parts.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Able to work in all weather conditions.
- Physical endurance.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Possess the ability to adapt to change and willingness to perform tasks outside of normal duties.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Possess a positive and friendly attitude.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: High school diploma
EXPERIENCE: None
TOOLS: Both hand tools and impact sockets required. Air Impact is required on day 1 of employment. Prybars.
LICENSES: Certified in refrigerant evacuation and forklift operation. (Bay Auto Parts, Inc. can provide training)
