What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse in Geriatric Care position at Bay Bluffs?
At Bay Bluffs- Emmet County Medical Care Facility, we provide exceptional care to our residents in a home-like environment with compassion and dignity. Our team approach combines dedicated administration with an experienced professional staff to offer a variety of services and programs for our residents, including short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, dementia-focused care, and End of Life/Hospice care.
Responsibilities:
- We are seeking nurses with geriatric, end-of-life, and palliative care experience who can complete initial and ongoing assessments to identify the physical, psychosocial, and environmental needs of our residents.
- Nurses will assess residents' conditions, chart observations, and perform evaluation tasks including vital signs and medication review.
- Administering medication as prescribed by the resident's physician is also a crucial responsibility.
- Effective communication with residents, their family members, team members, and other healthcare professionals is essential.
Qualifications:
- A graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Bachelor's School of Nursing, or vocational nursing is required.
- Candidates must hold a current state license as an RN and proof of current CPR certification.
- Compassionate, friendly demeanor and excellent communication skills are necessary for success in this role.
