What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender position at Bay Bridge Marina Waterfront Restaurant LLC?
We are currently seeking a seasonal Bartender to join our team! The Bartender plays a major role in a guest's dinner/bar experience. Consistency is key element in a positive experience, which is achieved by always following recipes. This is a full-time/part-time non-exempt position to work nights, weekends, days, and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Welcome each guest personally within 30 seconds.
- Communication with guests using clear and enthusiastic words, tone, and body language at all times. Make guests feel appreciated through bartenders’ actions.
- Work as a team with all employees to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service.
- Have complete knowledge of Libbey's food and beverage preparation.
- Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks to patrons of bar and dining room following standard recipes, maintaining consistency with house recipes.
- Ability to sell alcohol and food items.
- Anticipate guests needs.
- Ability to use a computer to ring orders on a check.
- Able to interact with guests in a friendly/time efficient manner.
- Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display in agreement with company standards.
- Wash and sterilize glassware in the provided machine.
- Be attentive to the guest’s alcohol consumption to insure they are not over served.
- Maintain responsibility for cash drawer, including balance and deposit as well as notifying manager for change when needed.
- Able to accept different types of payments and make change.
- Maintain specific side-work and ensure the total cleanliness and smooth operation of the restaurant.
- Ability to clear and set tables.
- Check identification of guests to ensure guests are of legal age to consume alcohol.
- Refuse to serve alcohol in a polite manner to those that are not of legal age or don’t produce adequate identification.
- When serving alcohol always monitor and observe guest’s behavior and follow TIPS guidelines. Do not hesitate to ask a manager to intervene.
- All guests must be treated in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strive to exceed guests’ expectations.
- Report to work in a neat and clean uniform. Well-groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Previous experience in bartending or a related role.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Familiarity with catering services is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
