Power Systems West has sold and serviced small engines and generators throughout the Western United States since 1955 through five locations and a network of more than 500 dealers. Power Systems West locations include Portland, Oregon, Boise, Idaho, Seattle, Washington, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Denver Colorado. All locations offer 24/7 emergency service for power failures and unplanned outages.

Our Power Systems division is seeking an experienced Rental Manager in either Boise, ID or Aurora, CO to provide excellent customer service, generate new business, develop and maintain existing business, and process warranty claims as well as assisting customers during walk-ins.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage Rental Department P&L
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with PSW’s policies and applicable laws: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems
  • Promotes safe work habits and ensure that safety rules are followed

· Maintain and provide continuous improvement to rental department processes

· Ensure the department operates within the established budget

· Seek to develop new business through sales calls, organizing sales visits and other activities

· Maintain relationships with customers by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements

· Establish new business: quote, follow up and sell rental products and services

· Help customers and employees with product specifications, model numbers, and pricing

· Deliver quality service by establishing and enforcing PSW standards

· Ensure that all drivers understand and procure the licenses and permits they need to legally carry loads to customer destinations; keep appropriate records

  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds

Experience and Skills:

· Demonstrated track record for managing highly effective teams and be able to bring new ideas to the team

· Profit & loss (P&L) experience

· Excellent employee and customer relations skills

· Demonstrated proficiency meeting growth initiatives and delivering bottom line results

· Ability to effectively schedule resources based on current and projected workload

· Strong customer relations skills: ability to communicate clearly and effectively (written and oral)

· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations, project bid documents to include plans and spec sheet

· Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals

· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, and percentages

· Proficient in Microsoft Office product and ability to conduct internet research

· Possess and maintain a valid Driver License as position is required to travel between offices and customer locations

· Ability to meet deadlines and make critical decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

· Flexible team player; must be available to travel when necessary – about 25% of the time

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary range for this position is $85,000 base pay annually plus commission.
