Communications Officer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to serve as our Chief Communications Officer. In this role, you will play a critical part in promoting the district's brand, messaging, and overall reputation to various stakeholders. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that showcases the district's achievements, programs, and services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a multifaceted communications plan that incorporates social media, traditional media, and internal communications channels.
• Provide strategic counsel to district leaders on communications-related matters, including crisis management and reputational issues.
• Manage and maintain relationships with local, regional, and national media outlets to secure positive press coverage for the district.
• Design and produce engaging visual content, including videos, photos, and infographics, to promote the district's programs and initiatives.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Relations, Communications, Education or closely related field from an accredited college or university recognized by the US Department of Education.
• 5 years of experience in public relations, marketing, or communications, preferably in an educational setting.
• Proven ability to think strategically, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
