Job Purpose: Healthcare Clinic Janitor Services
The purpose of this position is to ensure a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors. By meticulously cleaning and disinfecting all areas of the clinic, managing waste disposal, and maintaining essential supplies, the janitor helps prevent the spread of infections and contributes to the overall health and safety of the facility. Their role is crucial in supporting the clinic's operations and enhancing the quality of care provided to patients.
Qualifications, Education, & Experience
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- Proven track record of ethical conduct and dependability required
- Janitorial, custodial, or maintenance experience strongly preferred
- Customer services experience strongly preferred
Essential Responsibilities: Janitorial and Maintenance Services
1. Cleaning and Sanitizing:
- Clean and disinfect all areas of the clinic, including patient rooms, waiting areas, restrooms, offices, and common areas.
- Use appropriate cleaning agents and follow infection control protocols to prevent the spread of germs and bacteria.
2. Waste Management:
- Collect and dispose of regular and medical waste in accordance with clinic policies and regulations.
- Ensure that hazardous and biohazardous waste is handled and disposed of safely and correctly.
3. Restocking Supplies:
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, paper products, hand sanitizers, and other essential items in restrooms and common areas.
- Inform the supervisor of low inventory levels to ensure continuous availability of necessary supplies.
4. Floor Care:
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors to maintain cleanliness and prevent slips and falls.
- · Perform periodic deep cleaning of carpets, tile, and other floor surfaces.
5. Surface Cleaning:
- Dust and wipe down surfaces, including countertops, furniture, and equipment, to remove dirt and maintain a tidy environment.
- Pay special attention to high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, and handrails.
6. Window and Glass Cleaning:
- Clean and polish windows, mirrors, and glass doors to ensure they are free of smudges and streaks.
- Maintain the exterior entrance areas by keeping glass doors and surrounding areas clean.
7. Maintenance Reporting:
- Identify and report any maintenance or repair needs, such as broken fixtures, plumbing issues, or damaged equipment.
- Ensure that safety hazards are promptly addressed to prevent accidents and injuries.
8. Adherence to Safety Protocols:
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
- Participate in regular training sessions on safety, cleaning techniques, and infection control.
9. Assisting with Special Projects:
- Assist with special cleaning projects as needed, such as preparing rooms for special events or deep cleaning during flu season.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure a coordinated approach to clinic cleanliness.
10. Customer Service:
- Interact courteously and professionally with patients, staff, and visitors.
- Address any immediate cleaning needs or concerns raised by clinic personnel or patients.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as applicable to area(s) of responsibility
- Handle confidential information and materials appropriately and maintain a secure work area
- Other duties as assigned

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
