PCA Personal Care Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to patients in various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical-surgical care, emergency medicine, or outpatient clinic environments. This role is vital in ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care and assistance during their recovery or treatment process.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Monitor and record patient vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
• Help with mobility and physical therapy exercises as directed by healthcare professionals.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols.
• Assist in the transportation of patients within the facility as needed.
• Support nursing staff with administrative tasks such as filing patient records and scheduling appointments.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical-surgical care practices, emergency medicine, or outpatient clinic operations is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with working in Level I or Level II Trauma Centers is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining a calm demeanor.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
• Compassionate nature with a strong commitment to patient care and safety.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred but not required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.95 - $18.72 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 12 per week
