Bay Electric Co., Inc. is seeking a skilled Accounting Assistant to join our team. The accounting assistant will be responsible for assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of payroll, payroll tax, general bookkeeping as well as handling various administrative tasks within the accounting office. The ideal candidate will have excellent time management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various customers, vendors, and internal team members.
The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting duties in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations. If you have 3 years of bookkeeping experience, as well as proficiency working with accounting systems, and the ability to multitask, you are encouraged to apply. Essential Job Responsibilities
- Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts, posting transactions, establishing charts of accounts, defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
- Balances general ledger, reconciles entries, maintains historical records, and summarizes account information.
- Assists with preparation of tax reports, tax deposits and tax returns in a timely, accurate manner
- Manages/Performs all aspects of the weekly payroll, as well as AR/AP, and all collections activities.
- Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of extensive bookkeeping experience
- Must possess experience and proficiency in Accounting Software such as Computer Ease.
- Experienced in payroll taxes, AP/AR, billing, collections, financial analysis, reconciliations, and other administrative and clerical tasks.
- Working knowledge of proposals, contracts, and change orders.
- Thoroughness, attention to detail, ability to handle complexity, while adhering to strict confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills, team player, can do attitude, position, helpful, energetic.
