We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the daily operations of our optometry clinic. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and have experience in a medical office setting, particularly within ophthalmology or optical environments.
Duties
- Assist optometrists during eye examinations by preparing patients and explaining procedures.
- Perform preliminary tests, including visual acuity assessments, and retinal imaging.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all medical documentation is up to date.
- Manage the flow of patients through the clinic efficiently while providing excellent customer service.
- Educate patients on proper contact lens care and eyewear options.
- Handle sales transactions for optical products and services.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organized clinic environment.
- Stay informed about new technologies and advancements in optometry to enhance patient care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Optometric Technician or in a similar role within a medical office is preferred.
- Familiarity with ophthalmology practices and optical systems is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, such as compulink, is a plus.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to eye care.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and satisfaction.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinic environment while managing multiple tasks.
- Sales experience in a healthcare or retail setting is beneficial but not mandatory.
- A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
